Privacy policy

This policy covers laymance.com and applies to Laymance Technologies (“we”, “us”). It explains what we collect through this website, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

Information you send us in a form

Your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message field. We ask for this so we can reply to you and quote your work. Nothing on this site requires you to fill in a form.

Information your browser sends automatically

IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used to operate the site, keep it secure, and understand which pages are useful.

Email you send us directly

If you email us, we keep the message and your address for as long as needed to deal with what you wrote about.

What we do not collect

• Payment or credit card details — this site takes no payments
• Account logins or passwords — there are no accounts on this site
• Anything from children under thirteen, knowingly
• Precise location data

Why we collect it

To reply to enquiries and provide the services you ask for; to operate and secure the website; and to understand which pages are useful so we can improve them. If you become a client, we use your contact details to deliver and support the work.

We may email you about our own services. Every such email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time using the details at the end of this page.

Who else handles your information

We use the following services to run this site. Each one is bound to use your information only to provide its service to us:

We do not sell, rent, or lease your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We will disclose information without notice only where required by law, to comply with legal process, to protect our rights or property, or in an emergency to protect someone's safety.

There is no separate form service in that list because there isn't one. Contact form submissions are received and emailed to us by our own code running on Cloudflare, so nothing you send through a form on this site passes through a third-party form provider.

Where we host a website or email for a client, any personal data inside that system belongs to the client and is governed by our agreement with them, not by this policy.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. Nothing here tracks you between visits. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server request logs, which is the same record any web server keeps.

How long we keep it

• Form submissions and enquiries — 24 months, then deleted unless you have become a client or asked us to keep in touch.
• Client records — as long as required for tax and contractual purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct it if it is wrong
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it
• stop sending you email

Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you and we will not treat you differently for asking. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under your local law; tell us where you are and we will honor them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and sits behind Cloudflare, which provides TLS and filters malicious traffic. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but this site holds very little worth stealing, because it takes no payments and stores no accounts.

This site links to other websites, and to client websites we have built. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. We would encourage you to read the privacy statement of any site you visit.

Children under thirteen

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen, please ask a parent or guardian before using this website. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change, and the date below changes with it. If a change is significant we will say so on this page rather than quietly amend it.
